Central Illinois Juvenile Diabetes Support Network

The purpose of our meetings is to provide information, support and encouragement to central Illinois families living with diabetes.  At our informal meetings, you can meet other parents (moms and dads) who deal with the same daily struggles as you.  Previous meetings have dealt with topics such as:

  • Helping your child with diabetes succeed in school

  • 504 plans - what are they?

  • Helping siblings of the child with diabetes deal with their feelings

  • Stem cell research

  • Insulin pump therapy

  • Technological advances

Free childcare is provided for all children by adults trained in diabetes care. The children have fun creating a craft, watching a movie, or playing outside on the church's play structure (weather permitting). This is an excellent opportunity for kids with diabetes to realize they are not alone!

If you'd like more information on the Central Illinois Juvenile Diabetes Support Group, please contact Brian Coffey at (309) 683-3292.

Our group is proudly supported by the following sponsors:

  • Accu-Chek

Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30.
